Bonnie Thaler, LMFTA
My work as a therapist is a great privilege. I see myself as a collaborator with my clients. My philosophy is to listen and offer practical solutions in a supportive environment that will bring change towards my client’s goals.
I work with individuals, couples, and families. My therapeutic approach integrates Structural and Strategic Therapy to assess problems and their solutions from a systemic perspective. We are all part of various systems, some that are functioning more happily and effectively than others. The only thing we can change within these systems is our own behavior and our own perspective. By seeing that we have the ability to change our reactions to various things, we can begin to discover that we have it within our control to have more of what we want. This is the path to more harmony and joy in our lives. There is only one point in time that we can make changes and that is in the present moment. With that in mind I incorporate mindfulness and presence practices into my work as a therapist.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree from Simmons College in Boston in marketing and worked in advertising in NYC for many years. After a break to focus on family I was able to pursue my long-term goal to make a positive impact on other’s lives. I earned a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University.
